Revolware has been actively involved in innovation initiatives under MIRRI (Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic)<\/strong> for multiple years, primarily as mentors and expert contributors at national hackathons focused on public-sector challenges. After previously competing and winning all of the organized hackathons, we naturally transitioned into a mentoring role, where we could help more teams succeed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most important initiatives we supported was Hacknime.to<\/a><\/strong>, a long-term hackathon program aimed at modernizing and digitalizing public administration in Slovakia. A flagship event within this series was Hacknime dezinform\u00e1cie<\/a><\/strong> in October 2022, focused on combating online disinformation and strengthening democratic resilience through technology. The event brought together multidisciplinary teams to build concrete, working solutions addressing one of the most pressing societal challenges today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revolware\u2019s involvement went beyond technical advice. While we supported teams with product thinking, UX, technical feasibility, and system design<\/strong>, our key contribution was helping teams translate complex technical solutions into clear, engaging, and understandable narratives<\/strong>. We worked closely with finalists and winning teams on how to present their MVPs, explain their impact, and communicate value to non-technical stakeholders – juries, public institutions, and future users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martin Hrabovec<\/strong>, founder of Revolware, was officially listed among the mentors<\/strong><\/a> and experts for both main challenges, drawing on his experience with projects focused on media literacy, resilience to disinformation, and digital civic education. At the same time, this mentorship reflected the broader Revolware team\u2019s approach: combining engineering, design, and storytelling to turn ideas into solutions people can actually understand and adopt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The outcomes demonstrated the strength of this approach. Winning teams delivered solutions ranging from gamified educational apps and analytical browser extensions to immersive 3D simulations teaching critical thinking and democratic responsibility. Several projects continued beyond the hackathon phase, supported by follow-up collaboration and public-sector interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through Hacknime.to and similar MIRRI-backed initiatives, Revolware contributed to a positive social impact<\/strong>: empowering young technologists, designers, and innovators to work on democracy, media literacy, and public trust – and helping ensure their solutions were not only technically sound, but also compelling, accessible, and ready for real-world use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
