As part of the global Teach for All network, they attract ambitious graduates and young professionals who are motivated by meaningful work and long-term change.

For this audience the website is often the first point of contact. It needs to be clear, modern and intuitive, because it directly influences whether potential candidates decide to learn more or submit their application.

Teach for Slovakia approached Revolware with the need to stabilise and improve their existing website. The site struggled with technical issues, weak user experience and several layout problems that affected both visitors and the internal recruitment workflow. Revolware delivered a structured audit, implemented key improvements and helped prepare the foundation for a future redesign aligned with the organisation’s visual identity.

The Challenge

Teach for Slovakia’s website had been operating on an older structure that became increasingly difficult to maintain. Several parts of the site no longer reflected the needs of the organisation or its target audience, and technical limitations were causing inconsistencies in how the website behaved across devices. The overall experience did not match the expectations of young professionals who rely on clear, modern and intuitive digital environments.

UX and UI issues

The website suffered from an outdated look and a layout that felt overly bureaucratic. Navigation was fragmented and contained too many subpages which made it difficult for visitors to locate essential information about the programme. Important content was buried deep in the structure and the mobile version lacked clarity and stability. Inconsistent spacing, low contrast in certain sections, misaligned icons and texts overlapping photos all contributed to a confusing user experience.

Technical issues

The audit revealed several technical weaknesses that affected both the stability of the website and how reliably it displayed content. Updating one part of the site often caused unexpected layout shifts in others. Some images were formatted in a way that distorted sections, YouTube embeds loaded full video players which slowed down the page and the mobile menu relied on legacy styling that caused unpredictable behaviour.

We also reviewed the website’s metadata. Several pages used outdated or missing meta descriptions and the default meta image did not align with how the organisation wanted to present itself. These issues do not break functionality but they weaken first impressions when someone encounters a link through search engines or social platforms. We recommended refining these elements to create a more consistent and professional presence across external channels.

Additional issues included inconsistencies in the GDPR privacy prompt, formatting problems in the footer and layout shifts caused by partner logo scaling.

Strategic issues

Beyond the technical and visual challenges, the website did not reflect how different user groups arrived on the page or what information they expected to see first. The structure lacked a clear storytelling flow that explained what the programme is, why it exists and who it is for. Social proof such as alumni stories and ambassador highlights was present but not leveraged effectively. The result was a website that communicated valuable information but not in a way that supported Teach for Slovakia’s recruitment goals.

Project Goals

Teach for Slovakia defined several goals for the long term future redesign of their website, while Revolware’s work focused on stabilising the existing solution and improving essential user flows.

Long term vision (client-defined):

create a modern and inspiring presentation of the programme

simplify navigation and reduce the number of subpages

introduce a mobile-first approach

use stronger visuals, storytelling and dynamic content

present the program in a clear WHAT, WHY and HOW structure

align the website with the refreshed brand identity

Short-term goals delivered by Revolware:

stabilise the current website

fix the broken registration flow

update plugins and ensure compatibility

adjust GDPR cookie behaviour to full opt-in

resolve layout issues caused by outdated components

support Teach for Slovakia during the transition to a future redesign

Our Approach

Revolware began with a complete audit of the current website. The goal was to understand every technical limitation, UX problem and content gap. The audit listed more than twenty detailed findings which gave the client clear visibility into the condition of their site and options for improvement.

Analysing audience behaviour

We identified how different groups of visitors arrive on the site and what information they expect to see first. This helped prioritise recommendations and guide the structure of the proposed landing page.

Landing page concept

Since Teach for Slovakia was preparing a new visual identity, Revolware worked on a landing page concept that focused on clarity and conversion. The concept served as a strategic recommendation for the client’s future redesign and was not implemented on the production website.

Implemented Improvements

Revolware delivered a series of practical improvements that stabilised the website and resolved critical issues confirmed in the audit and the client’s brief.

1. GDPR Cookies Opt-in Update

The existing cookie banner did not meet updated GDPR expectations. Revolware:

adjusted the banner to full opt-in mode

fixed translation inconsistencies

connected the banner to the client’s cookie policy page

verified correct behaviour across modern browsers

This ensured compliance and a more transparent user experience.

2. Plugin Updates and Website Stabilisation

Revolware updated the WordPress installation and all relevant plugins. After the updates:

layout issues caused by outdated components were resolved

the previous “blinking” behaviour during page load was fixed

the website loaded more consistently even on slower connections

overall compatibility and performance improved

3. Registration Flow and Google Sheets Integration

One of the most critical issues was the malfunctioning registration flow.

Problem
The Google Sheet that received data from the website had an invalid first row which contained a button instead of column names. This broke the mapping of fields and resulted in incomplete or misaligned submissions.

Solution
Revolware created a new sheet with correctly defined headings. Data from the registration form was routed there without breaking existing scripts or workflows. All answers, including multi-select fields, were captured in full. The original sheet was left unchanged to avoid disrupting any processes on the client’s side.

Outcome
The registration system became stable and reliable. Every submitted form included complete and correctly mapped data which strongly improved the recruitment workflow.

Landing Page Recommendation

As part of the audit and the client’s preparation for a full redesign, Revolware proposed a modern, high-impact landing page concept. The recommendation focused on:

clear messaging

intuitive WHAT, WHY and HOW explanation

a simplified call-to-action flow

visual storytelling through testimonials and benefits

Gen Z friendly structure

This concept served as a strategic reference for the client’s future redesign but was not launched on the production site.

Results

Functional improvements delivered by Revolware

the registration system now works without errors

the website is technically more stable

plugin and WordPress updates ensured compatibility

loading issues and layout flickering were resolved

the GDPR cookie banner behaves transparently and correctly

Strategic outcomes

Teach for Slovakia gained a clearer overview of the website’s limitations

the audit and landing page concept helped define priorities for their upcoming redesign

internal workflows, especially around data collection, became more reliable

Client Feedback

Teach for Slovakia expressed strong satisfaction with the collaboration.

“The work was very fast and smooth. We would gladly collaborate again on future projects.”

This positive feedback reaffirmed that the improvements delivered by Revolware significantly helped their recruitment and communication efforts.

Conclusion

Revolware helped Teach for Slovakia move from a problematic and unstable website to a more reliable and user friendly platform. Through a detailed audit, targeted improvements and a strategic landing page concept, the organisation received both immediate technical stability and a clear direction for its future digital growth. These steps created a solid foundation for the upcoming redesign aligned with the new visual identity.

Ready to build something better?

Whether you need a refreshed identity, a cleaner user experience or a conversion flow that simply works, we are here to help you shape a digital product that makes sense.

Start a conversation →

Website Stabilisation, UX Audit and Registration Flow Optimisation Introduction Teach for Slovakia is a non-profit organisation focused on improving the education system by developing young leaders who work directly in schools and later drive impact across different sectors.
