Signály.cz — an online community and media platform focused on youth, faith‑based content, blogs, and multimedia sharing. The site serves as a space for articles, reflections, videos, and social engagement built around ecumenical dialogue and community expression.

Project Overview

Signály.cz operates a content‑rich web community where users publish blog posts, share multimedia, and engage in dialogue. As part of their ongoing development efforts, they identified a need for easier management and repurposing of video content, especially content coming from external platforms like Vimeo.

Revolware was engaged to design and build an Online Video Trimmer — a tool embedded into the Signály.cz ecosystem — to improve how videos are curated and shared within their community and across social platforms.

Challenge

Before this project, Signály.cz faced several limitations with video content:

• Users could embed videos, but there was no built‑in tool for trimming or editing video segments on the platform.
• Videos were primarily shown via external links, limiting control over video length and focus for storytelling or educational content.
• There was no integrated pathway between Signály.cz blog content and social sharing, especially on Facebook.
• Support for third party video sources (e.g., Vimeo) wasn’t fully implemented, limiting content creators’ options.

These gaps made it harder for Signály.cz editors and contributors to publish precisely tailored video narratives and to leverage social media effectively.

Solution: Online Video Trimmer

Revolware built a custom Online Video Trimmer optimized for the Signály.cz platform with the following core capabilities:

• Users can trim videos (initially from Vimeo) directly inside the Signály.cz dashboard.
• This allows editors to create short, focused clips for features or highlights without needing external software.

📹 New Vimeo Integration

• Enhanced backend support for Vimeo embeds — enabling users to insert videos from Vimeo seamlessly.
• Pre‑processing allows users to select video regions for trimming via the tool.

🔗 Blog ↔ Social Media Connectivity

• Built flexible settings to link blog posts with Facebook pages.
• Once a trimmed video is published, users can configure automatic sharing to Facebook alongside blog posts — increasing reach and engagement.

⚙️ Configurable Social Settings

• Administrators can define how blog content integrates with social networks.
• This enables consistent multi‑platform formatting and scheduling of published video content.

Technical Approach

• Developed as a modular web component that integrates with the existing Signály.cz CMS and editor workflows.
• Vimeo API was leveraged for video access and timestamped playback for trimming controls.
• Backend logic stores trimmed snippet metadata and ensures clean embedding in blog posts.
• Social share integration built using Facebook’s Graph APIs to allow controlled posting from Signály.cz admin panels.
